Sober Sunday #9- Original

Welcome!  So this is how it goes.  One day at a time.  I'm Lisa and I continue on in sobriety with almost 640 days consecutive days, no drinking.

It's interesting to note how things are at this time.  I was going to stay in Saskatchewan this week and I could find no place which would have me, was safe, and where I would stay.  I didn't want to stay in a hotel.  If I work half a day and the wage paid is one hundred dollars and then I go and stay in a hotel room which cost a hundred dollars then how much more money do I need?  These are the fruits of my living.  Keep up the good work.

There was a new place in the city which I was going to stay that was pretty affordable but it turned out to be a homeless shelter so considering that I have a home, I came home, instead of floundering around.  With that out of the way, I'm so glad to have a home to live in!

I was taking a walk in the park in the city where I'd been visiting when I saw my old drinking buddy.  She was in there drinking and a couple other acquaintances were sitting there as well.  I have been sober almost two years and almost none of those people that I saw who were from the past part of my life recognized me.  I was among them for around fifteen minutes.  It was odd because they were talking about this lifestyle and people which I'd only just left behind it seemed.  It was foreign and familiar.

It's Father's Day today and I'm glad to report that I had a visit with my own dear Dad yesterday.

Happy Father's Day to any Dad's who may read this today.

A general good day to you all.

Thanks for reading.
